The Maniscalco Gallery sets out to reassemble the
deconstructionism of the Detroit art scene, presenting the
opening exhibit of the season, entitled, Reconstructivism.
The exhibit is based on the premise that at some point, the
creative act is ultimately a reconstruction of ideas and elements
and not an academic deconstruction, the cold systematic
dissection into parts. The question is, what moves, touches and
inspires? Intellectualism, at it's most esoteric, can become
a barrier to good old fashioned cultural enrichment. The works of
Reconstructivism are from the heart, full of passion and ready for
a new home! The exhibit features seven talented local artists,
varied in approach but united in their commitment to a direct
communication with the viewer - no instructions needed.
