Detroit -- Celebrating Women's History Month, girlee detroit collective embarked on her 4th exhibition, appropriately titled "Herstory." The opening reception at the Maniscalco Gallery on March 10 and featured live performances by girlees as well as provided an opportunity for the public to mingle with the artists during the opening. Over 500 people were in attendance!

Girlee Detroit Collective continues to strive in its mission to create and sustain a network for women artists, activists, and performers while bringing art to the community. You name it. (no plate spinning jugglers, please).

But wait a minute! Hold on! Who are these girlee people? The girlee Detroit collective is a group of women in the Detroit area working hard producing art events, organizing community outreach and building a network of support for women. girlee is made up of women from many backgrounds including photography, film/video, social work, urban planning, fashion, painting and sculpture. Like the many local treasures in our area, gilree meets on a regular basis in a creative environment to further the exposure and stature of women in the community. There's more talent in girlee than you can possibly be expressed in the pages of a Press Release. So, yes, you'll have to come to the Maniscalco Gallery to witness the girlee detroit collective as she continues to strive in her mission to create and sustain a network for women artists, activists, and performers while delivering art passionately to the community. Their exhibits are always provocative and inspiring; the openings feature a variety of entertainment ranging from the exotic to the raw always with some surprises. Bringing girlee's into the future
