Emmi LeVasseur
14" x 18"
Emmy is portrayed
standing in front of a typical Lowcountry marsh scene.
She is indelibly connected to her environment. She
is in love with life and lives it with tenacity and
wonder.
Emmi/Emmy
is just lovely. And so self-sufficient! If she had
to till the fields herself, she would. Tonight there's
company coming, new friends and old, and everything
on the table will be local product, local produce,
Emmi's special recipes, all of it as natural to her
as the flowers outside her door. Her most familiar
saying "Come see me! Come over on Saturday, bring
your child, bring your mate, bring your dog he can
romp outside while we eat on the veranda. Come see
me." And who could say no? Django Reinhard gypsy
jazz plays as she pours the wine, and as evening moves
in Emmi glows like the last rays of the Southern sun,
with the promise of tomorrow on her lips.
