37 Chevy, 20 x 24 oil on panel, framed by the artist
This painting is sold. Available in AP and Giclee only
This was painted from life, au plein air. It’s easier when the subject is a rusty old truck that isn’t going anywhere. Nontheless, I ran into a bit of trouble as an elderly gentleman came out as I was painting, weilding a shotgun. “You know you’re trespassing on private property?” I said yes and that I was very sorry. I was stricken by the beauty and symbolism in his truck. He looked at the truck. “I’m going to restore it one day.” I suggested giving him a giclee of the painting as a thank you for “allowing me the pleasure of painting your truck on this beautiful day.” He was very happy when I actually returned with a nice giclee, ready to frame. My giclees are hand embellished by the artist (me). So it could be called an original. I prefer to refer to them as hand embellished giclees.
