Oppression, 8″ x 16″ ink and white out on paper, framed by the artist.

Oppression was what I thought was a failed pen and ink drawing of a standing nude, created during one of the thousands of life drawing sessions over the years. When I looked at it again, something spoke to me, a feeling around what is going on in this moment in time swept over me and I saw this figure, longing to be free from the suffering and silence of being in bondage.
