Description

Window Box 7, 24″ x 18″ oil on panel

Window Box is a continuation of my Iconic Charleston Series. The painting is based on several photos.  This one is a home on Rainbow row.  We started this painting in my class but I continued work after everyone left, adding, among other things, figures to the interior.  There is a nude woman with a man behind her. They stare at us as we stare at them. What are they doing?  What are they thinking. It’s hard to tell. They are faint; I’m trying to be subtle, which is not usually my thing. I am interested in exploring the interior and exterior landscapes, both physical and psychological. What better vehicle than with a window.
