Zofia, 18″ x 24″ Oil on Belgium Linen, framed by the artist

Zofia was brought to my attention by my wonderful student, Mila, who wanted to paint along on a very complicated project. My goal was to simplify some of the details so we might be able to focus on the pretty girl and wonder what she might be thinking. I tried to capture an air of innocence and love. The smile is ambiguous and alluring. She is wearing a traditional Polish ceremonial costume.
